After graduation from the University of Utah (Architecture), Gordon worked briefly in offices in Salt Lake City and Munich. During his five years in Germany he traveled and photographed extensively throughout Europe.

For twenty-eight years as an architectural photographer based in Salt Lake City, he served architects, developers, manufacturers, educational institutions, and government agencies - on assignment in the Midwest and the Western States.

His photographs have appeared in “Progressive Architecture”, Architectural Record”, “A.I.A. Journal”, “Architectural Forum”, “Architecture West”, “Sunset”, U.S. Information agency – “Historic Buildings Survey”, and internationally in trade journals, books, professional portfolios, corporate marketing applications, and in various design competitions and exhibitions.

Gordon continues his work in the creation of salon photography (digital since 2002) for commercial, institutional and residential applications. He and his wife make their home in Jacksonville, Oregon.
